1.45

《大集經》云：「若人誦此呪一遍，如禮大佛名經四萬五千四百遍，又如轉大藏經六十萬五千四百遍。造罪過十剎土，入阿鼻大地獄受罪，劫盡更生；念此呪一遍，其罪皆得消滅不入地獄，命終決定往生西方世界，得見阿彌陀佛上品上生。」

The Mahāsaṃnipāta Sūtra says: 'If a person recites this mantra once, it is equivalent to bowing to the Great Sūtra of the Buddha's Names forty-five thousand four hundred times, and also equivalent to revolving the Great Tripiṭaka six hundred and five thousand four hundred times. Even if one has committed sins across ten lands and entered the Avīci Great Hell to suffer punishment, only to be reborn there again when the kalpa ends, reciting this mantra once will cause all those sins to be extinguished so that one does not enter hell, and at the end of life one is certain to be reborn in the Western Realm, beholding Amitābha Buddha in the highest grade of the highest rebirth.'
