《金剛頂經》五字真言勝相云：「若人纔誦一遍，如誦八萬四千十二圍陀藏經；若誦兩遍，文殊普賢隨逐加被，護法善神在其人前。又善男子善女人，有能持此真言纔誦一遍，即入如來一切法平等，一切文字亦皆平等，速得成就摩訶般若。又若誦一遍，能除行人一切苦難；若誦兩遍，除滅億劫生死重罪；若誦三遍三昧現前；若誦四遍總持不忘；若誦五遍速成無上菩提。若人一心獨處閑靜，梵書五字輪壇，依法念誦滿一月已，文殊菩薩即現其身，或於空中演說法要，是時行者得宿命智，辯才無礙神足自在，勝願成就福智具足，速能皆證如來法身。但心信受，經十六生決成正覺。」（輪字觀門，衣師稟受。）

The Superior Marks of the Five-Syllable Mantra in the Sarvatathāgatatattvasaṃgraha Sūtra says: "If someone recites it merely once, it is like reciting the eighty-four thousand [teachings of the] twelvefold Veda canon. If they recite it twice, Mañjuśrī and Samantabhadra will follow and bless them, and the benevolent deities who protect the Dharma will stand before them. Furthermore, if good men and good women are able to uphold this mantra and recite it merely once, they will immediately enter the equality of all dharmas of the Tathāgata and the equality of all syllables, swiftly achieving mahāprajñā. Furthermore, reciting it once can eliminate all sufferings and difficulties of the practitioner; reciting it twice eliminates the heavy sins of life and death across a hundred million kalpas; reciting it three times causes samādhi to manifest; reciting it four times grants dhāraṇī retention without forgetting; reciting it five times swiftly accomplishes unexcelled bodhi. If a person single-mindedly dwells alone in leisure and quiet, writes the five-syllable wheel maṇḍala in Siddhaṃ script, and recites according to the Dharma for a full month, Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva will immediately manifest his body, or expound the Dharma essentials in the air; at that time, the practitioner will obtain knowledge of past lives, unhindered eloquence, and the sovereign power of supernatural locomotion, fulfill their supreme vows, be fully endowed with blessings and wisdom, and swiftly realize the Tathāgata's dharmakāya. Merely by faithfully accepting it in one's heart, one is certain to achieve right awakening over sixteen lifetimes." (The contemplation of the syllable-wheel should be received from an ācārya.)
