1.68

《觀音陀羅尼經》云：「若欲誦此呪者，所有過現四重五逆、謗方等經一闡提罪，悉皆消滅無有遺餘，身心輕利智慧明達，若身若語悉能利樂一切眾生。若有眾生廣造一切無間等罪，若得遇此持呪人影暫映其身、忽得共語或聞語聲，彼人罪障悉皆消滅。又若欲利益一切有情者，每至天降雨時，起大悲心仰面向空，誦真言二十一遍，其雨滴所霑一切有情，盡滅一切惡業重罪，皆獲利樂。」

The Avalokiteśvara Dhāraṇī Sūtra says: "If someone wishes to recite this mantra, all their past and present sins of the four parajikas, the five heinous crimes, slandering the Vaipulya sūtras, and being an icchantika will all be eliminated without remainder; their body and mind will become light and agile, their wisdom clear and penetrating, and whether through body or speech they will be able to benefit and bring joy to all sentient beings. If there are sentient beings who have extensively created all manner of sins such as the uninterrupted hells, should they meet this mantra-holder whose shadow merely falls momentarily upon their body, or suddenly speak with them, or hear the sound of their voice, that person's karmic obstructions will all be eliminated. Furthermore, if one wishes to benefit all sentient beings, whenever rain falls from the sky, one should give rise to great compassion, look up toward the sky, and recite the mantra twenty-one times; all sentient beings touched by those raindrops will have all their evil karmas and grave sins entirely extinguished, and will all obtain benefit and joy."
