1.74

無量壽如來念誦儀云：「此陀羅尼纔誦一遍，則滅身中十惡四重五無間罪，一切業障悉皆消滅。若苾芻苾芻尼犯根本罪，誦七遍已，即時還得戒品清淨。誦滿一萬遍，獲得不忘失菩提心，三摩地菩提心顯現身中，皎潔圓明猶如淨月，臨命終時見無量壽如來，與無量俱胝菩薩眾會圍遶，來迎行者安慰身心，則生極樂世界，上品上生證菩薩位。」

The Recitation Ritual of Amitāyus Tathāgata says: "Reciting this dhāraṇī merely once eliminates the sins of the ten evils, the four parajikas, and the five uninterrupted hells within one's body, and all karmic obstructions are completely extinguished. If a bhikṣu or bhikṣuṇī has violated a root transgression, after reciting it seven times, they will immediately regain the purity of their moral precepts. Reciting it a full ten thousand times, one obtains the bodhicitta that is never lost; the bodhicitta of samādhi will manifest within one's body, pure, bright, and round like the pure moon; at the time of death, one will see Amitāyus Tathāgata, surrounded by an assembly of immeasurable koṭis of bodhisattvas, coming to welcome the practitioner and comforting their body and mind; one will then be born in the World of Ultimate Bliss, achieving the highest grade of the highest rebirth, and realizing the stage of a bodhisattva."
