《決定光明王如來經》云：「若有眾生，得見此陀羅尼及聞名號，至心書寫、受持讀誦、供養禮拜，短壽之人復增長壽滿足百歲。若復有人若自書若教人書，於後不墮地獄、餓鬼、畜生、閻羅王界業道冥官，永不於是諸惡道中受其惡報。若書此呪，則同書寫八萬四千法藏，便同修建八萬四千寶塔。若有五無間地獄之業，由是功德力故，其業障等皆悉消除。臨命終時，九十九俱胝佛，面現其前來迎是人，往生於彼佛國土中。又書此呪，當來永不受其女身，四天王等暗中衛護。若聞此呪，永不受飛鳥四足多足等身，速成無上菩提。爾時世尊說是伽陀曰：

The Sūtra of the King of Determined Radiance Tathāgata says: "If sentient beings can see this dhāraṇī and hear its name, and with a sincere mind write it down, receive, uphold, read, recite, make offerings to, and pay homage to it, a short-lived person will further have their life prolonged to a full hundred years. If someone either writes it themselves or teaches others to write it, thereafter they will not fall into the hells, hungry ghosts, animals, or the underworld officials of the karmic paths of King Yama's realm, and will never undergo evil retribution in these evil destinies. If one writes this mantra, it is equivalent to writing out the eighty-four thousand Dharma treasuries, and is equivalent to building eighty-four thousand jeweled stūpas. If one has the karmas of the five uninterrupted hells, by the power of this merit, those karmic obstructions and the like will all be completely eliminated. At the time of death, ninety-nine koṭis of Buddhas will manifest in person before them and come to welcome this person to be reborn in that Buddha realm. Furthermore, writing this mantra ensures that in the future one will never receive a female body, and the Four Heavenly Kings and others will secretly protect them. If one hears this mantra, one will never receive the body of a bird, quadruped, or many-footed creature, and will swiftly accomplish unexcelled bodhi. At that time, the World-Honoured One spoke this gāthā, saying:
