第八、明彌陀淨國位該上下，凡聖通往者。今此無量壽國是其報淨土，由佛願故，乃該通上下，致令凡夫之善竝得往生，由該上故，天親、龍樹及上地菩薩亦皆生也。是故《大經》云：「彌勒菩薩問佛：『未知此界有幾許不退菩薩，得生彼國？』佛言：『此娑婆世界有六十七億不退菩薩，皆當往生。』」若欲廣引，餘方皆爾。

Eighth, clarifying that Amitābha's pure land has ranks that encompass upper and lower, so that ordinary beings and sages alike attain rebirth. Now, this land of Measureless Life is his reward pure land. Owing to the Buddha's vow, it encompasses upper and lower, causing even the good actions of ordinary beings to all attain rebirth; and because it encompasses the upper, Vasubandhu, Nāgārjuna, and bodhisattvas of the higher bhūmis are also all reborn there. Therefore the Larger Sūtra says: 'Maitreya Bodhisattva asked the Buddha: "We do not know how many non-retrogressing bodhisattvas in this world will attain rebirth in that land?" The Buddha said: "In this Sahā world there are sixty-seven hundred million non-retrogressing bodhisattvas who will all attain rebirth."' If one wished to cite broadly, other directions are all like this.
