1.48

問曰：「依大乘聖教，菩薩於諸眾生若起愛見大悲，即應捨離。今勸眾生共生淨土，豈非愛染取相，若為免其塵累也？」

Question: According to the holy teaching of the Mahāyāna, if a bodhisattva gives rise to great compassion based on emotional attachment and views toward sentient beings, they should abandon it. Now, encouraging sentient beings to be reborn together in the Pure Land—is this not an attachment to love and grasping at forms? How could one avoid its defiling entanglements?
