1.87

又問曰：「《無量壽大經》云：『十方眾生至心信樂，欲生我國，乃至十念，若不生者，不取正覺。』今有世人，聞此聖教，現在一形全不作意，擬臨終時方欲修念，是事云何？」

He asks again: "The Larger Sukhāvatīvyūha-sūtra says: 'If sentient beings of the ten directions, with sincere mind, faith, and joy, desire to be reborn in my land, even down to ten thought-moments, should they not be reborn, may I not attain unexcelled awakening.' Now there are people in the world who, hearing this sacred teaching, completely pay no heed throughout their present lifetime, intending to cultivate mindfulness only when approaching the end of life. How is this to be regarded?"
