問曰：《維摩經》言「菩薩成就八法，於此世界行無瘡疣，生於淨土。」信行禪師言「此八法是第三階眾生往生之法，《觀經》等教是第二階人往生之法。」今日既多是第三階眾生，如何學第二階法求生淨土？

Question: The Vimalakīrtinirdeśa Sūtra says: 'Bodhisattvas accomplish eight dharmas, walking in this world without sores or scars, and are born in a pure land.' Chan Master Xinxing said: 'These eight dharmas are the method for rebirth for beings of the third level; teachings such as the Guan jing are the method for rebirth for people of the second level.' Nowadays, since most are beings of the third level, how can they practice the method of the second level to seek rebirth in the pure land?
