7.40

問曰：何因得念佛三昧者，所得境界各各不同，或見淨土不得見佛、或得見佛不見淨土、或見淨土得見佛、或見佛及土，并見種種眾生業相一生已來所造善惡，於念佛三昧中悉皆得見。此所見相為真為偽？復如何見？請陳其教。

Question: What is the reason that among those who attain the buddhānusmṛti-samādhi, the realms they attain are each different? Some see the pure land but do not see the Buddha; some see the Buddha but do not see the pure land; some see the pure land and also see the Buddha; some see the Buddha and the land, and also see the karmic signs of various sentient beings—the good and evil committed throughout their entire lives—all seen within the buddhānusmṛti-samādhi. Are these perceived signs true or false? Furthermore, how are they seen? Please state the scriptural teaching.
