傑頃於都下甞獲斯文，讀示所知，無不生信，自遭酷罰，感寤益深，將廣其傳，因為序引（熙寧九年仲秋述）。

I recently obtained this text in the capital, read it, and showed it to those I know, none of whom failed to give rise to faith. Having myself suffered harsh punishment, my awakening has deepened even further. Intending to propagate it widely, I have therefore written this preface (Composed in the middle of autumn in the ninth year of Xining [1076 CE]).
