答曰：今依經論，乃以佛意但依經論修行者，不問凡聖男女乃至十惡五逆，臨命終時，正念現前、心不亂者並得往生，唯除謗大乘者不得往生。此依《觀經》。若依《無量壽經》，并除五逆人。

Answer: Relying now on the sūtras and treatises, and taking the Buddha's intention, anyone who simply practices in accordance with the sūtras and treatises—regardless of whether ordinary person or sage, male or female, up to those guilty of the ten evils and five heinous transgressions—if at the time of death correct mindfulness appears before them and their minds are not disturbed, they all attain rebirth; only those who slander the Mahāyāna are excluded and do not attain rebirth. This is based on the Contemplation Sūtra. If based on the Longer Sukhāvatīvyūha-sūtra, those guilty of the five heinous transgressions are also excluded.
