吳縣南寺尼法勝傳云：法勝出家，住寺之後乃往京師，進修禪律、該通定慧、探素幽隱，訓誘眷屬不肅而成。於禪寂中念佛為業，終時蒙佛放光來照而卒。

The biography of the nun Fasheng of the South Monastery in Wu County states: After Fasheng went forth from the household and resided in the monastery, she went to the capital. There she advanced in her cultivation of meditation and the Vinaya, attained comprehensive mastery of concentration and wisdom, and probed into what is subtle and hidden; she instructed and guided her retinue, achieving order without severity. Taking mindfulness of the Buddha amid dhyāna tranquility as her practice, when her end came, she was illumined by the Buddha emitting light, and passed away.
