Answer: 'Even granting that she was truly a bodhisattva who manifested a female body to transform sentient beings, she necessarily had to conceal her true capacity, manifesting the same as an ordinary being to gather and transform her own kind. Manifesting the same as an ordinary being and bodily residing in the five defilements, we always know that this leads ordinary beings of the five defilements to rebirth in Sukhāvatī. The Mahāyānasaṃgraha states: "Because of only making a vow, it is an intention regarding another time." Thus we know: how could the three meritorious deeds, the sixteen contemplations, the seven days of buddhānusmṛti, and the like be of another time?'
