Why is this? If Indra's net is not unfurled, how could its thousand necklaces be seen? When the great net is suddenly raised, all ten thousand meshes open together. One who bathes in the great ocean has already utilized the hundred rivers; one who is mindful of the Buddha's name will certainly accomplish samādhi. A single word can encompass it, and it lies right here. It is just like a clear jewel dropped into turbid water: the turbid water cannot help but become clear. When thoughts of the Buddha are cast into a scattered mind, the scattered mind cannot help but become Buddha. Once they have accorded, both mind and Buddha are forgotten. The forgetting of both is samādhi; the illuminating of both is prajñā. When calm and discernment are equally balanced, what mind is not Buddha? What Buddha is not mind? Since mind and Buddha are thus, then the ten thousand realms and ten thousand conditions are nothing other than samādhi.
