問：「念未來佛即眾生是，已聞玄義，事廣理幽也。又恐心散難檢，今欲一以貫之，專西方念一佛，踐不退地，祛有漏心，乘扁舟於黃金之池，禮彌陀於白玉之殿，以通三世，希沾九品，不亦可乎？」

The question asks: 'Being mindful of future buddhas means being mindful of sentient beings; I have already heard this profound meaning, whose phenomena are vast and whose principle is subtle. Yet I fear the mind will scatter and be hard to restrain. Now I wish to unify it by focusing exclusively on the West, being mindful of one buddha, treading the ground of non-retrogression, dispelling the mind of outflows, riding a small boat on the golden ponds, and bowing to Amida in the white jade palace, thereby penetrating the three times and hoping to partake in the nine grades—is this not also acceptable?'
