2.41

問曰：「闕公往生，金光相報，敬諾之矣。佛說一切法如夢者，未知所念之佛、所生淨土，亦如夢否？若非其夢，則佛在心外；若是其夢，則佛在夢中。如夢中得金，覺無所獲，誠恐虛念於三身，終歸於一妄。請為辨之。」

Question: “Que Gong’s rebirth and the report of golden light, I respectfully accept. But the Buddha taught that all dharmas are like a dream; I do not know whether the buddha who is contemplated and the pure land to which one is reborn are also like a dream or not. If they are not a dream, then the buddha is outside the mind; if they are a dream, then the buddha is within a dream. Just as when obtaining gold in a dream, upon awakening one has acquired nothing, I truly fear that vainly contemplating the three bodies will in the end reduce to a single delusion. Please clarify this.”
