欲生彼國者，當修三福：一者孝養父母，奉事師長，慈心不殺，修十善業；二者受持三歸，具足眾戒，不犯威儀；三者發菩提心，深信因果，讀誦大乘，勸進行者。此三種業，過去未來現在三世諸佛淨業正因。

"Those who wish to be born in that land should cultivate the three blessings: first, to be filial and support their parents, serve their teachers and elders, possess a compassionate mind and not kill, and cultivate the ten wholesome karmas; second, to receive and uphold the three refuges, be complete in all the precepts, and not violate the deportments; third, to generate the bodhicitta, deeply believe in cause and effect, read and recite the Mahāyāna, and encourage practitioners to advance. These three kinds of karma are the proper causes of pure karma for all buddhas of the three periods of time—past, future, and present."
