台州東掖山白蓮道場傳天台教咸法師，元祐七年七月十一日召大眾，出衣盂所有以散之，云：「吾二十三日，當還淨土。」至日，於方丈門外坐禪圓寂。前六日以遺書，遣淨人嚴妙觀齎來京師，與予為別。乃述真讚，以寄山中諸徒。

Dharma Master Xian, who transmitted the Tiantai teachings at the White Lotus Bodhimaṇḍa on Mount Dongye in Taizhou, summoned the assembly on the eleventh day of the seventh month of the seventh year of the Yuanyou era. Bringing out all he had of robes and bowls to distribute them, he said, "On the twenty-third day, I shall return to the Pure Land." When that day arrived, he sat in meditation outside the abbot's gate and passed into extinction. Six days prior, he sent a pure person, Yan Miaoguan, to carry his farewell letter to the capital to take leave of me. Thereupon I composed this portrait eulogy to send to his disciples on the mountain.
