3.51

西聖之大，維遠得之；廬山之高，維公悅之。西湖之社，群賢慕之；有始有卒，不磷不緇。我緣既終，我滅于茲，神游無何，名揚聖時。欲知我道兮，視此豐碑。

The greatness of the Western Sage / only Yuan attained it; / The loftiness of Mount Lu / only our Master took pleasure in it. / The society of West Lake / the host of worthies admired it; / Having a beginning and having an end, / neither ground down nor stained dark. / When my conditions came to an end, / I passed into extinction here; / My spirit roams in the realm of non-being, / while my name is spread throughout this sagely era. / If you wish to know my Way, / gaze upon this abundant stele.
