四明湖西，有崇教受業梵勤行人，夙願力故，來入延慶觀堂，行普賢懺、誦法華經，暗中摩頂自不知覺，以此迴向西方，增長念佛三昧。雕紫檀香阿彌陀佛，如水中月了不可得，求老竹庵為作證明。別無拈出，只這箇是。

To the west of the lake in Siming, there was the practitioner Fanqin, a tonsured novice of Chongjiao, who, owing to the power of past vows, came to enter the contemplation hall of Yanqing, practiced the Samantabhadra Repentance, and recited the Lotus Sūtra. Secretly his head was rubbed [by the Buddha] without his own awareness. With this, he dedicated [merit] toward the West and increased the buddha-mindfulness samādhi. He carved [a statue of] Amitābha Buddha from red sandalwood incense; like the moon in the water, it is entirely ungraspable. He requested old Zhuan to provide verification for it. There is nothing else to bring forth—only this very one.
