禪師一志西方，極言洪贊也如此，至於《萬善同歸》亦力勸修治，乃知通人無吝、惠利多方，校之滯寂沈空者遠矣。是賦師自有注本，事廣文長，此不暇錄。眇觀所屬，皆經文妙語，及《往生傳》中靈跡。惟博古尚道者，覩茲綱要，自悉綱目矣。

The Chan Master set his single aspiration upon the West, and his vast praise was as great as this; in his *Universal Convergence of Myriad Goods* (*Wanshan tonggui ji*), he also vigorously exhorted its cultivation. From this we know that a thorough person is without stinginess, benefiting others in many ways, far superior to those who cling to quiescence and sink into emptiness. The master himself wrote an annotated edition of this rhapsody, which contains extensive matters and long text, not recorded here. Looking closely at what it contains, they are all wondrous words of the sūtras and spiritual traces from the *Biographies of Rebirth*. Only those who are broadly learned and esteem the Way, upon seeing these core outlines, will naturally understand the details.
