Wang Xuzhong Rixiu of Longshu, in his leisure from broadly reading various texts, devoted his attention to the Buddha Vehicle and took benefiting others as his personal responsibility; he is truly a lotus in the fire. The Buddha said: “To deliver others before one has delivered oneself is the initial aspiration of a bodhisattva. To have fully perfected self-awakening and be able to awaken others is the Tathāgata's responding to the world.” I commend his resolve, and have written this at the end. If one sees the Amitābha of one's self-nature, one immediately understands the Pure Land of mind-only. If one is not yet able to do so, then Xuzhong's merit in composing this text will not have been in vain. Written on the twentieth day of the eighth month of the gengchen year, at the Lazy Nest of Liu Jingwen. Postscript by Miaoxi [Zonggao] of Shuangjing.
