(If someone can recite and uphold these verses, they will obtain three kinds of benefits: first, they will constantly uphold the titles and names of the various Mahāyāna sūtras; second, their faith in the Pure Land will increase; third, they will cause those who hear it to have deep faith in the Pure Land. If encountering one on the verge of death, recite it aloud once or twice, and then encourage them to practice buddha-mindfulness.)
