《國清百錄》紀陳朝宰相發願云：「陵和南。弟子思出樊籠，無由羽化。既善根微弱，覬願力莊嚴。一願臨終正念成就，二願不更地獄三塗，三願却來人間不高不下處託生，四願童真出家如法奉戒，五願不墜流俗之僧。憑此誓心以策西暮，今書丹悃仰乞證明。」

The Guoqing bailu records the vow made by the Chancellor of the Chen dynasty: 'Ling bows in reverence. Your disciple longs to escape the worldly cage, but has no wings to ascend. Since my wholesome roots are feeble and weak, I hope to rely on the power of vows to adorn my path. First, I vow that at the end of life, correct mindfulness will be accomplished. Second, I vow not to pass through hell and the three wretched paths again. Third, I vow to return to the human realm and take birth in a place that is neither high nor low. Fourth, I vow to become a monk as a chaste youth and uphold the precepts according to the Dharma. Fifth, I vow not to fall into becoming an ordinary monk of worldly customs. Relying on this resolve of vows to spur on my declining years, I now write this sincere devotion, reverently begging for confirmation.'
