The Renwang jing states: "The Buddha asked King Prasenajit: 'With what characteristics do you contemplate the Tathāgata?' The King said: 'Contemplating the true mark of one's own body, one contemplates the Buddha likewise: without past boundary, without future boundary, without middle boundary; neither abiding in the three boundaries nor departing from the three boundaries; neither abiding in the five aggregates nor departing from the five aggregates; neither abiding in the four great elements nor departing from the four great elements; neither abiding in the six sense bases nor departing from the six sense bases; neither abiding in the three realms nor departing from the three realms; up to neither seeing, hearing, perceiving, nor knowing; the place of mental activity is extinguished, the path of words is cut off; identical to the limit of reality, equal to the Dharma-nature. With these characteristics I contemplate the Tathāgata's body.' The Buddha said: 'One should contemplate in this way. If one contemplates otherwise, it is called wrong contemplation.'"
