1.88

吳興黃公鉞，頃甞刊印天台《十疑論》。題其後曰「古人以懼心𪫟迫，發矢入石；怒氣激烈，刺山飛泉。誠一由中，無情能感。況於裂除疑網、凝結信根，念佛三昧精進不變，淨土雖遠決定得生。而世人疑信相半，是用掇智者之答問，列無為之序引，刊印普施，用廣流傳，助我善友堅持信心者也。」

Lord Huang Yue of Wuxing once carved and printed the Tiantai Treatise on the Ten Doubts. He wrote at its end: 'The ancients, pressed hard by fear in their minds, shot arrows that penetrated stone; inflamed with furious energy, they struck mountains and water gushed forth. When sincerity comes from within, even insentient things can be moved. How much more so when tearing through the web of doubt, consolidating the root of faith, and exerting vigor in buddhānusmṛti-samādhi without changing! Although the Pure Land is distant, rebirth is certainly attained. Yet worldly people are divided half between doubt and faith. For this reason, I have gathered Zhizhe's questions and answers, arrayed the preface of Wuwei, and carved and printed them for widespread distribution, in order to broadly disseminate them and assist my good friends in holding steadfastly to faith.'
