《龍舒淨土文》曰「聞魯直前世是婦人，長《誦法華經》。以誦經功德故，今世聰敏有官職。此故隨業隨緣來者也。若生西方，豈但如是而已哉？」

The Longshu jingtu wen states: 'I have heard that Luzhi in his previous life was a woman who constantly recited the Lotus Sūtra. Because of the merit of reciting the sūtra, in this life he was clever and intelligent and held official office. This is precisely coming in accord with karma and conditions. If he had been born in the West, how could it merely be like this?'
