予遍覽藏經及諸傳記，取其意而為淨土文，無一字無所本，幸勿以人微而忽其說。欲人人共曉，故其言直而不文。予龍舒人也，世傳淨土文者不一，故以郡號別之。

I have perused throughout the Canon and various biographies, extracting their core meaning to compose this Pure Land text. Not a single character lacks a source. Please do not disregard its explanations simply because the person [who wrote them] is of humble station. Wishing that everyone understand it together, the language is direct and unadorned. I am a native of Longshu; as there are various Pure Land texts circulated in the world, I have distinguished this one with the name of my commandery.
