又問曰：求神祈福如何？答曰：人命長短生時已定，何假鬼神延之耶？若迷惑信邪，殺害眾生祭祀鬼神，但增罪業反損壽矣。大命若盡，小鬼奈何？空自慞惶俱無所濟。切宜謹之。當以此文帖向目前時時見之，免致臨危忘失。

He also asked, saying: 'What about praying to spirits and seeking blessings?' / He replied, saying: 'The length of human life is already fixed at birth; how could one rely on ghosts and spirits to lengthen it? If one is deluded and believes in heterodoxy, killing sentient beings to sacrifice to ghosts and spirits, this only increases sinful karma and instead impairs lifespan. If the great life has come to an end, what can petty ghosts do? Vainly panicking achieves nothing. One must be extremely cautious about this. You should paste this text before your eyes and see it constantly, so as to avoid forgetting it when facing danger.'
