Those who net flying birds should reflect to themselves: "Flying birds dwell in forests, wilds, and the open sky; they do no harm to humans. Greedily desiring their flesh, I use many schemes to capture them. I cherish my own life, and they too have life; I cherish my own flesh and blood, and they too have offspring. If I can change my occupation, that is best. If I cannot yet change it, I should at least refrain from killing small creatures with many lives or those brooding over their young." Constantly recollect Amitābha Buddha, repent, and make a great vow: "I vow that after seeing the Buddha and attaining the Way, I will completely deliver all living creatures killed throughout my life, causing them all to be born in the Pure Land." Recite mindfulness after mindfulness without interruption; when mindfulness naturally matures, one will also be born in Sukhāvatī. If one further transforms others, having them mutually exhort and transform one another, then in this present life disasters can be eliminated and sins extinguished, and after death one will not be in the lowest birth of the lowest grade.
