1.11

問曰：既謂淨穢融通塵塵極樂，何娑婆獨不免於穢耶？答曰：凡夫業感即淨而穢，佛眼所觀即穢如淨，豈釋迦報境而果穢哉？

Question: Since it is said that pure and defiled interfuse and that dust by dust is Sukhāvatī, why alone is Sahā not exempt from defilement?

Answer: To the karmic experience of ordinary beings, what is pure appears defiled; viewed by the Buddha eye, what is defiled is as pure. How could the reward realm of Śākyamuni truly be defiled?
