此說因吾卿大方李公居士作勸念佛圖，請著語於中，故述此云。時洪武乙亥九月二十日書附。
This discourse was set down because our Minister of the Court, the layman Lord Li Dafang, made an 'Illustration Urging Buddha-Mindfulness' and requested words to be inscribed on it. Written and appended on the twentieth day of the ninth month in the yihai year of the Hongwu reign [1395 CE].
