1. The Fahua sanmei guan jing says: "Sentient beings of the ten directions who invoke 'Namo Buddhāya' once will all become buddhas. There is only the one Mahāyāna, without a second or a third. All phenomena are of one characteristic and one gate, which is neither arising nor ceasing, ultimately the characteristic of emptiness. Practicing such contemplation, the five desires are naturally severed, the five hindrances are naturally eliminated, the five faculties increase, and meditative concentration is immediately attained."
