"Next, we disciples and the assembly should repent the sins of stealing. We may have given free rein to physical actions, stealing and robbing all sentient beings of the hells and animals, the wriggling creatures on land, in water, and in the air, in unknowable numbers. We may have stolen from and robbed all asuras, ghosts, and spirits, the wriggling creatures on land, in water, and in the air, in unknowable numbers. We may have stolen from and robbed all humans, devas, the Three Jewels, teachers, monks, parents, relatives of the six relations, kalyāṇamitras, and sentient beings throughout the dharmadhātu, in unknowable numbers. We may have stolen intentionally, stolen by accident, stolen in jest; stolen ourselves, taught others to steal, or rejoiced in stealing; stolen heedlessly, stolen uninterruptedly, stolen out of love or hate, stolen out of defiance or compliance, or stolen craving taste or for wealth. Sins of stealing such as these are measureless and boundless. Now, before the ordinary and holy beings of the bodhimaṇḍa, we reveal and repent them, eliminating them completely without remainder. Having repented, with utmost sincerity we take refuge in Amitābha Buddha."
