"Śāriputra, what do you think? Why is it called 'the sūtra that is protected and held in mindful regard by all Buddhas'? Śāriputra, if there are good men or good women who hear the names spoken by these Buddhas and the name of this sūtra, all these good men and good women are protected and held in mindful regard together by all Buddhas, and all will attain non-retrogression from anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi. Therefore, Śāriputra, all of you should faithfully accept my words and that which the Buddhas have spoken. Śāriputra, if there are people who have already vowed, are now vowing, or will vow, wishing to be born in Amitābha Buddha's land, all these people will attain non-retrogression from anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi; in that land, they have already been born, are now being born, or will be born. Therefore, Śāriputra, if there are those with faith among good men and good women, they ought to make the vow to be born in that land."
