往生禮讚偈 1.83

1.83

人生不精進，喻若樹無根，
採華置日中，能得幾時鮮？
人命亦如是，無常須臾間，
勸諸行道眾，勤修乃至真。

Human life without vigor
is like a tree without roots;
if one picks a flower and sets it in the midday sun,
how long can it stay fresh?
Human life is also like this,
impermanent in a mere instant.
I urge all practitioners of the Way:
cultivate diligently so as to attain the ultimate truth.
