May we disciples, when our lives come to an end, have minds that are not inverted, minds that are not confused, minds that do not lose mindfulness; may our bodies and minds be free from all suffering and distress, and may body and mind experience bliss as if entering dhyāna. May the holy assembly appear before us, and riding upon the Buddha's primal vow, may we attain rebirth in the highest grade in the land of Amitābha Buddha. Having arrived in that land, may we attain the six supernormal powers, enter the realms of the ten directions, and rescue and gather in suffering sentient beings. As long as empty space and the Dharma realm endure, so too shall my vows endure. Having made this aspiration, with a sincere mind I take refuge in Amitābha Buddha.
