南無西方極樂世界阿彌陀佛，哀愍覆護我，令法種增長，此世及後生，願佛常攝受。願共眾生咸歸命，故我頂禮生彼國。

Namo to Amitābha Buddha of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss: / Pity and protect me, / Cause the seed of Dharma to increase and grow; / In this life and future rebirths, / May the Buddha always gather me in. / May I, together with all sentient beings, take refuge; therefore I prostrate and [vow to] be born in that land.
