How lovely, how lovely! The bodhisattvas play and roam in the West (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace). Going out the door, be able to endure humilation (within the flower terrace); entering within the household, harbor no anger (within the flower terrace). Only be able to cultivate the Pure Land (bodhisattvas), and you shall realize the purple-golden body (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace). The minds of sentient beings, the minds of sentient beings, sunken at the bottom of the mire of ignorance—when will they awaken (bodhisattvas) and attain the hundreds of thousands in gold (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace)? The minds of sentient beings, the minds of sentient beings, surging waves difficult to restrain (grasping after the four continents, bodhisattvas)—where do they not pursue and seek (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace)? Why do they not turn toward Amitābha's land? Resounding is the joy, where not a single person suffers the bottommost pains of hell, yet pitifully sentient beings flee into hiding in great numbers. What can be done, O Heaven, what can be done? Sentient beings have no affinity with the Buddha. Though exhorted with hundreds and thousands of words, they cannot be transformed (bodhisattvas); it is certain that their sins will lead them to the Yellow Springs (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace). Amitābha builds a great ship and churns through to the shore of the ocean of suffering. Though the ship's bow tilts darkly, as if about to sink (bodhisattvas), most dearly it ferries across those who are mindful of the Buddha (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace). East of the pond, west of the pond, are terraces of a hundred jewels; radiant towers and pavilions open in ten thousand tiers. For a while one gazes into the pavilions at those in the place of one more birth (bodhisattvas), and returns again to the hall to pay homage to the Tathāgata (whirling within the flower terrace, whirling within the flower terrace). Red lotus flowers, blue lotus flowers, born upon the terraces of thousand-petaled lotuses (gathered and received by Amitābha Buddha, gathered and received by Amitābha Buddha).
