Majestic Amitābha,
Whose countenance has the form of purple gold,
His body endowed with the thirty-two marks,
The undersides of his toes and soles flat and even,
His secondary signs eighty in kind,
His radiant light constantly illuminating,
His brahma-voice surpassing the trichiliocosm,
Its wondrous resonance like the plaintive call of a luan bird.
Majestic Amitābha,
Whose land is exceedingly pure and bright,
Completely and purely of yellow gold,
Without the four evils or the name of woman,
Where pond waters flow and pour together,
And jeweled trees sound the five tones,
Singing and praising impermanence and suffering,
So that those who hear attain the unarisen.
Majestic Amitābha,
Most exquisite king among all virtues,
His realm is wondrous, peaceful, and joyful,
With none who do not vow to be reborn there;
The Buddha together with the assemblies of bodhisattvas
Come soaring together to welcome them;
Suddenly within the pond of seven jewels,
They grow to maturity within lotus flowers.
Majestic Amitābha,
Whose majestic virtue is wondrous and peerless,
His bodily form of true golden color,
His light illuminating the lands of the ten directions;
Those who hear of him and succeed in beholding him
Permanently uproot the suffering of birth and death.
I now bow my head in reverent homage
To the Supreme Refuge of Sentient Beings.
