1.89

白眾等聽說，經中如來偈，何不力為善，念道之自然？宜各勤精進，努力自求之，必得超絕去，往生安養國，橫截五惡道，惡趣自然閉，升道無窮極，易往而無人。何不棄世事，勤行求道德？各得及長生，壽樂無窮極！

"I announce to the assembly to listen to / the Tathāgata's verse in the sūtra: / Why not vigorously do good, / and be mindful of the Way's spontaneity? / Each should be diligent and vigorous, / striving to seek it by oneself; / one will certainly transcend and depart, / to be reborn in the land of Anyang, / cutting horizontally across the five evil destinies, / the evil paths naturally closed, / ascending the boundless Way, / easy to reach, yet without people. / Why not abandon worldly affairs, / and diligently practice seeking the Way and virtue? / Each will attain longevity, / life and joy boundless!"
