一者、扶普觀意。坐已，自想即時所修計功，合生極樂世界，當便起心生於彼想。於蓮華中，結跏趺坐，作蓮華合想，作華開想。當華開時，有五百色光來照身想，作眼目開想，見佛菩薩及國土想。即於佛前坐聽妙法，及聞一切音聲皆說所樂聞法，所聞要與十二部經合。作此想時，大須堅固，令心不散，心想明了，如眼所見。經久乃起。

First, supporting the universal contemplation's intent. Having sat, visualize oneself that the merit accumulated from the practice right at that moment warrants rebirth in the Sukhāvatī world, and one should immediately give rise to the thought of being born there. In the lotus flower, sit cross-legged in the lotus posture, visualize the lotus flower closing, and visualize the flower opening. When the flower opens, visualize five hundred colors of light coming to illuminate the body, visualize opening the eyes, and visualize seeing the Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and the land. Immediately sit before the Buddha to listen to the wondrous Dharma, and hear all sounds expounding the Dharma one delights in hearing, what is heard being in accord with the twelve divisions of the canon. When performing this visualization, one must be very firm, causing the mind not to scatter, the mental visualization clear and distinct as if seen with one's eyes. Only after a long time does one rise.
