（此法自撰集于今凡二改治，前本越僧契凝已刊刻廣行，其後序首云「予自濫沾祖教」等是也。聖位既廣，比見行拜起易勞。懺悔、禪法皆事攻削，餘悉存舊。今之廣略既允，似可傳行，後賢無惑。其二三焉，刊詳刪補，何嫌精措！）

(Since its initial compilation, this ritual has undergone two revisions up to the present. The earlier version was already carved on printing blocks and widely circulated by the monk Qining of Yue; the head of its afterword reads, 'Since I improperly partook of the ancestral teachings...', and so forth. As the ranks of the holy ones were extensive, seeing [practitioners] repeatedly prostrating and rising recently seemed to exhaust them easily. The repentances and meditation methods were all subjected to pruning, while the rest was preserved as of old. Now that its expansiveness and brevity are properly balanced, it appears suitable to be transmitted and practiced, so that later worthy ones will not be confused. Among these two or three [editions], with careful editing, deletions, and additions, how could one begrudge refined execution?)
