雪堂禪師乃吾三世祖，囑予為序，率爾書之，腦後見腮、頂門具眼者大發一笑，開泰退堂襲祖第二十世孫五峯普秀齋沐焚香拜書。

Chan Master Xuetang is my ancestral teacher three generations prior; having entrusted me to compose a preface, I rashly wrote this. May those whose cheeks can be seen from behind their heads and who possess an eye atop their crown burst into a great laugh! The twentieth-generation descendant inheriting the ancestors, Puxiu of Wufeng, retired from Kaitai, purified himself, burned incense, made prostrations, and wrote this.
