到大慈，慈在方丈內坐。師問：「端居丈室時如何？」慈云：「寒松一色千年別，野老拈花萬國春。」師云：「今古永超圓智體，三山鎖斷萬重關。」慈便喝，師亦喝。慈云：「作麼？」師拂袖便出。

He arrived at Daci. Daci was sitting inside the abbot's quarters. The Master asked, "How is it when dwelling upright in the ten-foot room?" Daci said, "The single color of the cold pine is distinct for a thousand years; the country elder picking a flower brings spring to myriad realms." The Master said, "Eternally transcending past and present is the substance of perfect wisdom; the three mountains lock off the myriad barriers." Daci then shouted. The Master shouted as well. Daci said, "What are you doing?" The Master flicked his sleeves and went out.
