The Master's origins and deeds are fully recorded in records such as the *Transmission of the Lamp*, so they will not be repeated here. From Master Xinghua Jiang downward, his descendants have been the most flourishing and grand, with many persons of great capacity who outshine rivers and mountains and shed luster on both ancient and modern times. Everywhere in Dharma assemblies and chan groves, converting the secular and expounding the real, setting standards again and again, extending the broad and long tongue mark to open halls and expound the Dharma for others—such as Master Ciming Yuan and Master Langye Jue were both great Dharma kings and teachers of gods and humans.
