師問雲居：「甚處去來？」居云：「蹋山來。」師曰：「那箇山堪住？」居云：「那箇山不堪住。」師云：「恁麼則國內總被闍黎占却？」居云：「不然。」師曰：「恁麼則子得箇入路？」居云：「無路。」師曰：「若無路，爭得與老僧相見？」居云：「若有路，即與和尚隔山去也。」師乃曰：「此子已後千人萬人把不住去在。」

The Master asked Yunju, "Where have you been?" Ju said, "Treading the mountains." The Master said, "Which mountain is fit to dwell in?" Ju said, "Which mountain is not fit to dwell in?" The Master said, "If so, then the entire country has been occupied by you, Ācārya?" Ju said, "Not so." The Master said, "If so, then you have found an entry path?" Ju said, "There is no path." The Master said, "If there is no path, how could you meet with this old monk?" Ju said, "If there were a path, then I would be separated from the upādhyāya by mountains." The Master then said, "In the future, thousands and tens of thousands of people will not be able to hold this fellow back."
