師一日與密師伯渡水。師曰：「莫錯下脚。」伯云：「錯即過不得也。」師曰：「不錯底事作麼生？」云：「共長老過水。」

One day the Master was crossing a stream with Senior Uncle Mi. The Master said, "Do not misplace your footing." Uncle said, "If one misplaces it, one cannot cross." The Master asked, "What about when one does not misplace it?" He said, "Crossing the water with the elder."
