師與神山密師伯過水，乃問：「過水事作麼生？」神山云：「不濕脚。」師云：「老老大大，作這箇語話？」神山云：「爾又作麼生？」師云：「脚不濕。」（一作師與神山渡水，師云：「莫錯下脚。」神山云：「錯即過不得也。」師云：「不錯底事作麼生？」神山云：「共長老過水。」）

The Master was crossing water with Senior Uncle Mi of Shenshan, and asked, "What is the matter of crossing the water like?" Shenshan said, "Not wetting the feet." The Master said, "So old and venerable, yet you make such talk?" Shenshan said, "What about you?" The Master said, "The feet are not wet." (One version has: The Master was crossing the water with Shenshan. The Master said, "Do not place your feet wrongly." Shenshan said, "If wrongly, one cannot cross." The Master said, "What about the matter of not doing so wrongly?" Shenshan said, "Crossing the water together with the Elder.")
